MEENA NANJI is an award-winning film/video maker, known for her experimental and documentary works which have been recognized by the Rockefeller Foundation, National Endowment for the Arts, Paul Robeson Fund, Women in Film Foundation, and Center for Asian American Media, among others. Her work has won numerous awards and has screened at film/video festivals as well as broadcast on television internationally. Meena has curated and served as a juror for various film/video festivals, and has also been invited to guest lecture at universities and conferences around the world. Meena has served on various boards including L.A Freewaves and Help Women Heal. She was a founding member of ArtWallah, L.A’s South Asian Arts Festival and co-founder of GlobalGirl Media, a non-profit organization which trains girls from underrepresented communities around the world in digital media. She is currently working on a feature film entitled THE COSMIC FOREST, produced by Louverture Films. Meena is currently a 2012-2013 Project:Involve fellow at Film Independent.
