Noori Mamdani: Success Story in Early Childhood EducationNoori Mamdani was awarded The Outstanding Student in Early Childhood Special Education at the Mercer University Honor Convocation on April 13, 2012.

Noori graduated in May 2012, from Mercer’s Tift college of Education with Bachelors of Science in Education, majoring in early childhood/special education. She is also a member of the Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.(1)

“I feel extremely honored to receive this award, and I will continue to do my best to keep up with it. All praise to Allah, thanks to my educators, and my husband, Iqbal Mamdani, who helped me ‘google’ my best in me.”

Noori is deeply humbled that she is able to follow Mowlana Hazar Imam’s Guidance in achieving the academic excellence.

“At this moment, I could say early childhood education has gotten under my skin. It has become my meditation, my passion, and my ultimate goal, which is to serve the jamat and community in helping young children succeed.”

At present Noori is pursuing Masters in Early Childhood Education with ESOL
endorsement. She believes ESOL study will help her to understand the impact of culture
in young children’s assorted learning needs. She is keen to use the knowledge of special
education and ESOL, to involve parents actively in their child’s education, which would
help young children to achieve social, emotional, and global academic success.
