Opened in 2002, the Ismaili center is Sugar Land is a center for prayer and reflection as well as for social and cultural gatherings. Ismaili Centers worldwide are symbolic markers of the permanent presence of the Ismaili community and a symbol of the confluence between the spiritual and the secular in Islam.
“Sunday morning members of the Ismaili Jamatkhana and Center in Sugar Land, which is affiliated with the Aga Khan, will demonstrate calligraphy and dance as they relate to their Shiiāa services. The program concludes Sunday afternoon at Congregation Brith Shalom with a presentation of traditional cantorial music and contemporary Shabbat music.”
