Hamilton, ON—As one of our new Development Assistants, Aisha’s responsibilities include organizing fundraisers, networking with prospective donors, scheduling public speaking engagements and increasing organization membership. She was born in London, England and raised in Hamilton, Ontario. She is a recent combined Honours Political Science and Religious Studies graduate from McMaster University. Next September, she will be enrolling in a post-graduate International Development program at Humber College.
Aisha has a strong passion for community development. Since the age of 7, she has been actively involved in outreach programs designed to help and connect with people in need. She has volunteered her time within the Hamilton Ismaili community working closely with the Hamilton Presbyterian Church in soup kitchens, providing and preparing meals for visitors. Aisha has also facilitated homework clubs with the Settlement and Integration Services Organization (SISO) and is a project manager for the Aga Khan Youth & Sports Board (AKYSB) in charge of Ismaili student associations at McMaster University and University of Guelph.
