Mawlana Hazar Imam Arrived in Ottawa, Canada

In the afternoon on Wednesday, 25 March, Mawlana Hazar Imam arrived in Ottawa for a seven-day visit during which he will spend time with his Jamat across Eastern Canada. He was welcomed by Sébastien Carrière, Chief of Protocol of Canada; The Honourable Marc Miller, Minister of Canadian Identity and Culture, and Minister responsible for Official Languages; Dr Mahmoud Eboo, Representative of the Delegation of the Ismaili Imamat to Canada; The Honourable Farah Mohamed, Senator of Canada; Taleeb Noormohamed, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation; Ismaili Council for Canada President, Ameerally Kassim-Lakha; and a delegation of Jamati leaders.

While in Canada, Hazar Imam will meet with senior leaders of the country in Ottawa. He will also participate in the groundbreaking of a new Jamatkhana in the Greater Montreal Area, and the inauguration of a multigenerational housing unit in Toronto.
