Mawlana Hazar Imam arrived in Nairobi, Kenya, in the afternoon on Monday, 25 August. Hazar Imam is on a State visit at the invitation of His Excellency William Ruto, President of Kenya. He was received by Honourable Musalia Mudavadi, Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs, and Honourable Aden Bare Duale, Cabinet Secretary for Health. Amin Mawji, AKDN Representative to Kenya, and Shamira Dostmohamed, President of the Ismaili Council for Kenya were also present.
A delegation of Jamati leaders welcomed Hazar Imam on behalf of the Jamats from Botswana, Burundi, Eswatini, Namibia, Rwanda, South Africa, and Kenya. During his visit, Hazar Imam will meet with President Ruto and senior officials of the Kenyan government, and will grace the Kenya jurisdiction Jamat with didar.
