Breaking Fast, Building Bridges: A Ramadan Iftar at the Ismaili Centre Toronto

On March 11, the Aga Khan Council for Canada hosted a Ramadan Iftar dinner at the Ismaili Centre Toronto, bringing together 290 guests and supported by 75 volunteers. The event celebrated fasting, reflection, and community spirit during the holy month of Ramadan. Olivia Chow, the 66th Mayor of Toronto, delivered a heartfelt speech, highlighting the shared values of compassion, service, and unity that bind the city’s diverse communities. This gathering also exemplified the Ismaili Centre’s mission of fostering intellectual exchange and cultural dialogue. Through this event, connections within a diverse community were renewed, underscoring the essence of Ramadan—gratitude, service, and togetherness.
