The World Partnership Walk was held on Sunday, May 26th, 2024 at David Pecaut Square in downtown Toronto [Canada].

The Walk was attended by thousands of Canadians and the weather was just perfect. The East York Champs Team (with membership of over 500) was this year again honoured with a thunderous applause by enthusiastic and excited spectators for being declared as the top team with most funds raised in the Friends and Family category. The trophy was also presented to the team.

The following are achievements and brief highlights of this memorable day:
1. This was the 40th Year of the Walk since it started in 1985 by a group of ladies in Vancouver [Canada]. Some of these ladies were present at today’s walk including Hon. Nurjehan Mawani. She shared her experience about starting the Walk in Vancouver.

2. The Walk today was started by the winning teams in the Corporate and Friends and Family categories.

3. The annual event was attended by Federal, Provincial and Municipal leadership (who addressed the gathering), corporate and community leaders and Canadians of all ages.

4. Her Worship Mayor Olivia Chow of the City of Toronto in her address declared Sunday, May 26th, 2024 as “World Partnership Day in Toronto.”

This year’s walk in Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver will be held on Sunday, June 2.

Our deep gratitude to all the planners, organizers, volunteers, well wishers, supporters, sponsors, donors and members of all the categories of teams for their hard work, devotion and dedication for the past many months and years.
