Entrepreneur Farrah Ali is using mentorship to bring more women into the world of business

By VICTORIOUS PR, Chicago Tribune, March 4, 2024
Despite the fact that women are more likely than men to be enrolled in college and get a four-year degree, there are still countless male-dominated industries. Carpentry, architecture, agriculture and real estate are just a small number of the areas occupied by more men than women, even though many of those fields — and a majority of others that fall under the business category — require a college education just to enter the door.

Given the gender ratio, it’s even more impressive when a woman not only enters one of these spaces but starts to lead it. Undeterred by the numerous challenges faced as a woman in a predominantly male-dominated field, Farrah Ali, real estate professional, entrepreneur and author, fearlessly ventured into the real estate and investment arena. She channeled skepticism and biases into motivation to prove her worth and rise above the outdated standard.

Being a woman in business
Ali firmly believes that being a woman brings unique qualities and strengths that greatly contribute to success in the business realm. She champions the idea that embracing femininity and leveraging these qualities can become a superpower, providing a distinct competitive advantage in the business world.

Throughout her journey, Ali has demonstrated unwavering resilience in the face of adversity, consistently bouncing back from setbacks with unwavering determination and grace. One notable challenge she encountered was when she sought a mentor in investing, feeling that finding a mentor that is already successful in the space you want to enter can be the singular act that makes all the difference in your own success.

Unfortunately for Ali, this was a pursuit that demanded a significant financial investment, which was something she did not have. Undeterred, she boldly charged forward, putting the cost on her credit card.

“I told myself, I don’t care what it takes, I am not going to let the lack of money get in the way of my success,” says Ali. “And it paid off.”

Her journey and achievements have served as an inspiration to countless individuals, prompting her to share her experiences in her new book,“Diaries of a Female Real Estate Investor: Learn How a Single Mom Went from 80K in Debt to a Multi-Million Dollar Portfolio.”
