Sunday, June 25, 2023 was an amazing and most memorable day. At the World Partnership Walk in Toronto [Canada], the East York Champs team and members related with the team were honoured with a thunderous applause by thousands of spectators at the prestigious David Pecaut Square in Downtown Toronto. The achievements are:
- East York Champs Team (with membership of 340) was declared as the top team and presented with the trophy in the ‘Friends and Family’ category;
- One of the 5 top ambassadors who raised the most funds was a member of East York Champs team;
- The Walk was started and led by the winning team in the Friends and Family category;
- One of the members of the East York Champs team (who was also the past captain of the team) was presented with the Top Ambassador medal for having raised the highest funds.
Overall achievements for this annual Walk attended by thousands of Canadians was, with the usual help of hundreds of volunteers, a tremendous success attended by many political, social media, civic and other leadership. The following are additional achievements:
- A message from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was received and read out;
- Sunday, June 25, 2023 was declared as “World Partnership Day” in Toronto.
Other similar successes have been achieved by the annual Walk in general and members of the the East York Jamatkhana in particular during the past years with the Grace, Bounty and Blessings of Allah.
Such enviable and ongoing success is also attributed to the unity amongst all and excellence in performance. Gratitude is also due to many generous supporters, well wishers and donors for their generosity and support. Our prayers that as Canadians following on the cherished Canadian values, we are in a position to witness such events in the future for many years to come. Photos from the event included below.
