Asad Ramzanali Appointed Chief of Staff of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy

November 15, 2022 – The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) announced that Asad Ramzanali will succeed Dr. Marc Aidinoff as OSTP Chief of Staff. Ramzanali brings public and private sector expertise to OSTP as the office works to advance the President’s bold science and technology agenda.

Asad Ramzanali joined OSTP earlier this year as Director of Legislative Affairs after four years of service on Capitol Hill, with roles in both chambers. He served as Legislative Director for U.S. Representative Anna Eshoo, a senior member of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, after serving as a legislative fellow working on technology and banking policy for U.S. Senator Brian Schatz. Prior to working in public policy, Ramzanali worked on a corporate strategy team for a technology company and managed an impact investing program focused on early stage financial technology startups. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and a Master in Public Policy from the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government.

Under Dr. Aidinoff’s leadership, OSTP has advanced key efforts for the American people, including reigniting the Cancer Moonshot, launching the Blueprint for an AI Bill of Rights, and beginning implementation of the Bipartisan CHIPS and Science Act.

Established in 1976, the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy advises the President and others within the Executive Office of the President on the scientific, engineering, and technological aspects of the economy, national security, homeland security, health, foreign relations, and the environment.
