Dr Zubaida shares her thoughts with Ismailimail:

IM: Tell us about your book, “Optics Made Easy’

Zubaida: Optics is a field of Physics & as doctors, we are required to study it, since it plays a vital role in understanding how different optical instruments (Lenses, slit lamps etc.) work. I was preparing for my FICO exam & made notes for revision, with the aim of understanding complex terms & mythologies in optics with easy mnemonics. Once I was done with my exams, I thought to convert my notes into a short book and published it on Amazon. The aim was to help students understand Optics in an easier manner, hence the name ‘Optics Made Easy’.

IM: What are your thoughts on impact of girls education on society?

Zubaida: Women play a critical role in the development of nations. An educated girl is a truly empowered girl. Women education, therefore, is vital for the success of not only her own, but of get family, and society at large.

IM: What is the message you would like to convey to women especially from remote areas of Pakistan?

Zubaida: Ladies, you’re beautiful, strong, & unique in your own way. Don’t let anyone bring you down, protect your personal boundaries, & do not let anyone take the key to your self-confidence! Stay confident, stay beautiful, & stay brave!
