Navroz Na Din Sohamna
Beautiful Day of Navroz

The composer of the ginan Sayyid Fateh Ali Shah travelled from Sind to Persia to meet Hazrat Imam Shah Khalilullah our 45th Imam.

On arriving at the destination on the day of Navroz, he learnt that the Imam had gone to the woods on a hunting expedition. Sayyid was disappointed but not in a mood to give up. He went into the woods in search of his Imam, was able to connect and was rewarded with a meeting – deedar – in the woods at the Fort.

In this ginan, Sayyid Fateh Ali Shah relates the combined experience of the zaheri deedar – the exoteric or physical glimpse or meeting, granted by the 45th Imam, Shah Khalilullah, and the inner joy of contentment and ecstasy that he experienced with the bestowal of Noorani – the spiritual or esoteric grace.

JollyGul.com presents Amin Mawani’s heartwarming and skillful rendition of “Navroz Na Din Sohamna” in a video format with running lyrics and translations. This was released for the first time during Navroz last year.

Amin Mawani recites ghazals, geets, garbas, qasidas and ginans. He is passionate about North Indian classical music and has received training since his childhood by some of the world’s most accomplished and prominent artists in this genre.

Navroz Mubarak from the JollyGul Team – may the New Year bring good health, happiness and prosperity to you and to your family. Stay safe, stay positive!
