CTV Calgary to Salute Ismaili Muslims

The Ismaili Muslim Community Float 2014 - In Partnership with Boys and Girls Club of CalgaryWatch tonight on CTV at 5 minutes to 6 MST as CTV Flashback Canada 150 salutes the Ismaili Muslim community of Calgary and their history of award-winning floats related to community projects in the Calgary Stampede.

http://calgary.ctvnews.ca/flashbackcanada150 is a section on CTV website which is devoted to the weekly flashback feature showcasing local stories relating to Canada.

The flashback featuring today, is from 1998 with late broadcaster Gord Kelly interviewing Sam Keshavjee.

The Stampede Parade is just two weeks away and this year the Ismaili community is likely outdoing itself again. Year after year, their spectacular float entries have been award-winners.

In 1998, Gord Kelly dropped in for a look at the final touches on what became known as “The Waving Cowboy”
