A civil society fundraising initiative by Ali Amiri. Please participate and help.
Ali Amiri, originally from Afghanistan, is a resident of Toronto. Ismailimail reached out to him and learned that Ali Amiri has been a childhood friend of Kayhan’s Dad, Ehsan. Since there are no medical facilities in Afghanistan to seek treatment for Kayhan’s condition, Ali decided to recruit the family, friends and the community to do something to help. “We’re very fortunate to have free health care in Canada and that is not the case everywhere,” he said. “Your contribution through this fund will go a long way to help Kayhan to get the medical care he needs. He disparately needs the vest to improve his breathing.” he further added.
Following is the story as told through GoFundMe Campaign:
I am launching a fundraising campaign for a Cystic Fibrosis Vest for 1 year old Kayhan. Kayhan is an Ismaili Muslim, lives in Afghanistan and has been suffering from Cystic Fibrosis since birth. Kayhan is the youngest son of my dear friend, Ehsan. Unfortunately, there is no treatment for Cystic Fibrosis available in Afghanistan. Kayhan is taken to India twice a year for testing, but even India lacks a specialty care centre.
We are hoping to get Kayhan a chest physiotherapy vest that is specifically made for Cystic Fibrosis patients. The vest is expensive and is not available in India or Afghanistan – it must be ordered from either Europe, USA, or Canada. While the vest is our first priority (on an urgent basis), the funds will also be used to pay for Kayhan’s visits to India for the organ functionality tests.
Any support would be much appreciated. Kayhan is an energetic little boy who loves to play – we want to see him live a full and happy life.
