Academically, Akbar is also a qualified CPA, CMA. He is also the director, co-founder and co-host of Salaam Namaste Canada Productions’ Internet Radio show along with Jalal Ladak and Salma Jadavji. Salaam Namaste Radio and TV program is geared for South East Asian community living in Canada. The program can be heard every Tuesday from 8:15pm to 10:00pm (MST) on http://www.salaamnamastecanada.com or http://www.radiosursangam.com. The TV show can be watched on Chakde TV, Canada’s first HD Punjabi channel, every Saturday and Sunday at 11:40 am (MST).
Akbar has interviewed hundreds of celebrity guests in Canada and from abroad that includes politicians, entrepreneurs, athletes, musicians, artists, professionals and others. He firmly believes in giving back to the community and for that reason, his team organizes annual fund-raising event to support AKF’s World Partnership Walk.
