James Adams for The Globe and Mail – February 04, 2016: Turkish photographer/planner/architect Murat Germen has earned international attention for his panoramic, multidimensional cityscapes – what he calls “muta-morphoses.”
A year ago this month, he ventured onto frigid Lake Ontario at twilight to position his camera on Centre Island in Toronto’s Inner Harbour to shoot what became the basis for Muto-Morphosis Toronto #1.
The epic manipulation, 210 by 119 centimetres, is on display at Toronto’s Aga Khan Museum from this weekend through June 26 as part of the exhibition, A City Transformed: Images of Istanbul Then and Now.
