Summary:
- The Aga Khan Foundation Canada International Youth Fellowship Programme started in 1989 with the goal of cultivating new generations of international development leaders.
- At the end of March this year, it will celebrate the completion of its 25th round of internship placements, and a quarter-century of impact in developing countries. The programme has operated in East Africa since 2003, with fellows placed in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
- There are 11 fellows currently working in East Africa — three in Nairobi, two in Kampala, two in Arua, one in Dar es Salaam, one in Mtwara, one in Mwanza and one in Zanzibar.
