Farouk and Rahat Abdulla: Couple’s home print shop thriving

Farouk and Rahat Abdulla: Couple’s home print shop thrivingJuly 21, 2015 Megan Voss: The unique location of a couple’s business has worked in their favour so far.

Located in the basement of the family home of Farouk and Rahat Abdulla, print and design shop Soho Grafiks has been in existence in Sherwood Park for more than a decade.

The couple — who have three children — are the only employees of Soho Grafiks, which prints and designs business cards, banners, outdoor signage, decals for vehicles, brochures and flyers.

“We’ve always had an interest in running something along the design end of things, so we did some design work just at home, and then we added in the print feature,” explained Farouk, who graduated from NAIT with a diploma in Computer Systems Technology.

“Now we’re doing both design and print.”
