A fascinating documentary on the history and restoration process of the Noh Gunbad Mosque in Balkh, Afghanistan. This site, built between the early eight century and the first half of the ninth century CE, is believed to be the oldest and most important early Islamic-era building in Afghanistan and possibly in the wider region. The video documents a three-year conservation project to stabilize and conserve the central columns and remaining arches of the Mosque. The video is 14 minutes long and is narrated in Dari with English subtitles.
