Over two thousand Victorians turned out for the “World Partnership Walk” on Sunday.
The five kilometre anti-poverty walk took participants around the University of Victoria campus
“This walk has been happening here for the last 22 years,” says local organizer Zen Tharani. “It shows that Canadians care and that we care about people on the other side of the world… we want to help them because their lives matter.”
The Victoria walkers raised over $100-thousand. The money goes to different programs that tackle poverty around the world and is distributed by the Aga Khan Foundation.
