Sara Mojtehedzadeh: Aga Khan Foundation of Canada Fellow working in the Star newsroom

Sara Mojtehedzadeh: Aga Khan Foundation of Canada Fellow making an impactThe Toronto Star and the Atkinson Foundation are embarking on a “ground-breaking” philanthrojournalism partnership to create a work and wealth beat in the Star newsroom.

The collaboration between the paper and the foundation will create a one-year reporting position for a journalist to examine what makes work decent for different generations, fields and cultures and explore ways to develop a more equitable and sustainable economy.

[…] The position created by the partnership will be held by Sara Mojtehedzadeh, a former BBC World Service journalist with plenty of international experience.

From August 2012 to April 2013, Mojtehedzadeh reported for Nairobi, Kenya’s Daily Nation newspaper as the Aga Khan Foundation of Canada fellow.

She also covered politics and foreign news including Kenya’s 2013 presidential elections for Sky News in the United Kingdom.

“I am really excited,” said Mojtehedzadeh. “I am really interested in working on a beat that has to do with social justice issues and the idea of what makes work fair and the workplace a dignified place.”
