Nadir Mohamed appointed distinguished CEO in residence of Ryerson University

Nadir Mohamed, former Rogers Communications Inc. executive, was appointed distinguished CEO in residence for the upcoming academic year.

Nadir Mohamed, a highly accomplished business executive in Canada’s communications and media sector who was most recently chief executive officer and president of Rogers Communications Inc., has been appointed a distinguished CEO in residence for 2014/15.

Over the course of his 25-year career, Mohamed has held various leadership roles at Canada’s top communications companies. Under his leadership Rogers became the largest wireless carrier in Canada through the acquisition of Microcell, delivered best in class cable and wireless margins and significantly strengthened its balance sheet. One of his crowning achievements while at the helm of Rogers came just before he retired last year: a record-breaking $5.2 billion, 12-year exclusive agreement for the media rights to NHL hockey.
