“Faizaan is a joy to have in class. He participates well and enjoys sharing his knowledge appropriately. One thing about Faizaan that I really enjoy is his interest in the subject matter and his desire to ask good questions. He enjoys being helpful, and I enjoy being his teacher.” Commented his homeroom teacher, Ms. Denae Harmon.
During the academic year 2013-14, Faizaan continued achieving excellence in the fourth consecutive year at the QSI International School of Bishkek. He successfully completed 9 years old program and performed exceptionally well in curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities throughout the academic year. His overall achievements during the academic year 2013-14 are summarized below:
1. Successful completion of the 9 years old program (he received As in all 65 units)
2. Presidential Physical Fitness Award singed by the President of the United States
3. First Position in Spelling Bee 2014 (9-11 years age group) organized by QSIB – Faizaan was also the winner of Spelling Bee 2013 and the first runners up of the Spelling Bee 2012.

12. Participated in Annual Fund Run 2013 and collectively with his siblings (Tabreek and Manaaim Somani) raised over 6,000 Kyrgyz Soms through sponsorship for STUCO (Student Council) activities at QSI International School of Bishkek
To date, Faizaan’s three poems and four stories/narratives have been published in “KidsWWwrite”, which is an online anthology for young writers and readers established in 2001 by the Department of English at Okanagan College, Canada (ISSN 1703-3020). Faizaan’s story has also been published in the “Writers’ Slate” by the The Writing Conference, Inc., which features some of the top quality writing by students, kindergarten through 12th grade. One of his narratives has also featured in the QSI’s weekly newsletter. His six art works and one poem have been published in the “Young World”, which is children’s weekly magazine in Daily Dawn and his 41 art pieces have been published in “artSonia” Museum – the largest online artwork collection for children.
Faizaan migrated to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan at the age of 5 years with his family in 2010 and joined the QSI International School of Bishkek in September 2010 in 6 years old program. He completed his Kindergarten at the Foundation Public School in Karachi and one year of early years learning at the Play Group, Karachi.
