The Aga Khan Academy and University Master plan at Dar-es-Salaam was a major competition that I’ve been designing with one fellow architect, Gilbert Balinda, and under supervision of Jeremy Rose. Research of the local culture helped us to orient our design. This design process brought us also to look after site and climate requirements; and to set out precise procedures for the analysis and roll out of the project. In this process, every aspect of a community life were also taken care of.
