Things are slowly but surely returning to normal in Calgary after devastating and record-breaking floods. Bravo to Calgary for pressing on and putting on a fine and world-class Stampede that attracted visitors and tourists from around Canada and the world.
What a show!
The Stampede did indeed go on “come hell or high water.” It also proves when a disaster hits, people of Calgary and Alberta get together in a community spirit to help each other and their beloved community.
One person who deserves a lot of credit for this is Calgary’s Mayor Naheed Nenshi who did and continues to do a remarkable job in bringing back life to his city. In recent months, the Canadian public has been losing faith in their politicians. You just have to read about public officials who seeming abuse the privilege positions they have been elected to hold in Montreal, Toronto and other parts of Canada.
