Ontario’s medal and recognition programs celebrate the people who make our province a better place to live. The Ontario Volunteer Service Award recognizes individual volunteers for continuous years of commitment and dedicated service to an organization.
Amyn Keshavjee was recognized for his voluntary service with the Canadian Martin Luther King Day Coalition of Ottawa. The Canadian Martin Luther King Day Coalition celebrates Martin Luther King Day at Parliament Hill with an evening of Gospel singing, Speeches and Poems in remembrance of the great Martin Luther King. The Martin Luther King Life Achievement Award is also presented to individuals or organizations which have demonstrated themselves to be a role model in Canada and beyond, for the values and principles promoted in their lifetime and in keeping with the principles of the Late Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. such as the promotion of: Social Justice, Minority Rights, Racial Harmony, Spiritual Values.
