The local population including the youth of Bamyan province in Afghanistan’s Central Highlands Region (CHR) turned out for the free open-air concert of Bamyani and visiting Kabul-based musicians including Afghan Star Adbul Hameed Sakhizada on Thursday (4 July) at the grounds of a local hotel west of the Mazari Square in Bamyan Centre. The weeklong festival sponsored by the Aga Khan Foundation and the Bamyan Tourism Development Board featured traditional music, cultural performances, handicraft exhibitions and games, including a Buzkashi match and horse races.
