Prince Karim Aga Khan, the spiritual leader of the Ismaili community, has welcomed the appointment of Ghalib Iqbal as Pakistan’s ambassador to France. The Prince who is based in Paris and maintains close liaison with the community and Pakistanis felicitated Ghalib Iqbal who had a chance meeting with him during his trip to Paris. He had gone there as chief of protocol state of Pakistan with President Asif Ali Zardari who was in Paris as guest of honour in the UNESCO ceremony for Malala Yousafzai.

Prince Karim Aga Khan who has long acquaintance with Ghalib Iqbal expressed the hope that his posting in Paris would be greatly benefit Pakistan. Ghalib Iqbal thanked the Prince and said he would try his best to serve the country.
