The Aga Khan Museum is a new public museum opening in Toronto, Canada in 2013. Founded by His Highness the Aga Khan, it is the first museum devoted to Islamic art in North America. It houses a significant and celebrated collection covering all areas and periods of Islamic art, from Spain and North Africa to Southeast Asia and China. The collection illuminates the beauty, artistic sophistication, intellectual and religious traditions, and the many cultural influences of societies in which Islam plays a role.
