On a day Premier Alison Redford said “she would remember for the rest of (her) life, the premier and His Highness the Aga Khan signed an agreement of co-operation Wednesday at Government House.
The agreement signals a symbolic partnership between the province with the Aga Khan, the spiritual leader of Shia Ismaili Muslims. By signing it, the two parties pledged to work together on issues such as health sciences, education, economic development and culture both in Alberta and in countries served by the Aga Khan Development Network, a charitable organization the Aga Khan founded that works to improve the lives of people in the developing world.
