The Brain Aneurysm Foundation has announced the recipients of its annual research grants. In 2012, The Foundation will award $200,000 in grants to ten individuals conducting scientific research directed at early detection, improved treatment modalities, and technological advances that will ultimately improve outcomes for patients with brain aneurysms.
Alim P. Mitha, M.D., SM, FRCSC, Cerebrovascular/Endovascular/Skull Base Neurosurgeon, Assistant Professor of Clinical Neurosciences and Radiology, Foothills Medical Centre, University of Calgary, Calgary, AB. Dr. Mitha received the The Dawn Brejcha Chair of Research, a $10,000 grant to help fund the research – A Bioabsorbable, Verapamil-Eluting Stent for the Treatment of Vasospasm after Subarachmoid Hemorrhage.
