Starting this year, the Sakıp Sabancı International Research Awards is featuring a “Jury Award on Islamic art and Culture.” This award was given posthumously to Oleg Grabar, Emeritus Professor and the inaugural holder of the Aga Khan Islamic Art and Architecture Chair at Harvard University, the late Oleg Grabar. He was presented this award for his lifelong contributions to Turkish and Islamic art. Oleg Grabar’s prize was given to the Oleg Grabar Memorial Fund, established to advance studies in Turkish and Islamic art and culture.
