People are hungry to learn about eating well
What, when, where and how we eat—and who we eat with—all affect our health. And every meal, indeed everything we put in our mouths, is influenced by our environment.
Because of this, Alberta Health Services is working to give people more choices when it comes to eating well. We know people are—pardon the pun—hungry to learn about healthy eating based on the interest in our nutrition programs and services: from the food served in AHS hospitals, to the programs we offer in communities across the province.
Part of our work is creating a greater understanding of healthy eating, which can be defined and interpreted in many different ways. For some, it’s adopting a vegan diet. For others, it’s following Canada’s Food Guide. For you, it might be trying eat at home more with family and friends. Our own definition of healthy eating considers much more than the food we put on our plates every day. It’s about where and how we make food choices, as well as what and how much we eat.
