It will also be important to rely heavily on Islamic based organizations and regional institutes, such as the Aga Khan Foundation (AKDN), Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) is in position to take a more prominent role post 2014 through channeling donor money into Afghanistan. The Aga Khan has already contributed around 700 million US dollars, including investing in large-scale rural development; health, education and microfinance services.
