Hey World,
I want to thank everyone who has joined and spread the word on our cause. Considering we started late, our team has raised over $3,500. A great success, but I know we can do much better.
For those of you who are reading this for the first time, last September, my 18-year old brother Alim Hasmani passed away after a long and drawn out battle with Leukemia. Alim’s life was important to all of us; he taught us all valuable lessons of patience, understanding and courage. He also showed us that none of us are immune to some of the harsh realities of this world. Cancer is on the rise and quickly increasing its pace to become the leading cause of death worldwide. It can strike anyone, at any age.
If there is a cure for cancer, it needs to be found and it is imperative that we give our full support to help find it, because there is no good reason why anyone should have to go through what Alim and our family and the countless number of other families before us have been through.
The Leukemia Alim-inators was formed over a year ago and Alim himself said that he would walk with us. On Wednesday, October 5th, we will be walking as a team and I hope that everyone can make it to show support. Alim will be there in spirit and I am sure that we will feel his strong energy in the air. So before that day comes, let us all continue to find donations and register people who would want to support this cause. Every donation counts no matter how small! And from the bottom of my heart, I want to thank everyone for donating, supporting, and spreading the word on our goal. I am sure thousands of families are more than greatful for your help. THANK YOU!
