The ring of a cellphone or the buzz of a text message has become the ubiquitous theme song to life. And while those handy little devices have become a lifeline to each other, they have also become an integral part of medical care. Point of care access to the Internet has become widespread; the vast sea of medical literature is almost impossible to keep up with so as you visit Slave Lake Hospital don’t be surprised to see staff double checking drug doses on their iPhones or looking up the latest research on a particular disease. If this information is so readily available to us, why isn’t it more accessible to patients like you?
