An alderman who fought against Mayor Naheed Nenshi’s attempt to cut his own office budget said since Nenshi was elected to the top job he’s a “prince.”
And as such, “there are expectations,” said Ald. Gord Lowe. He and Ald. Brian Pincott were unsuccessful in stopping the mayor’s cut.
Maybe Lowe was searching for a funny turn of phrase, but we are not amused.
While we are royally impressed with Nenshi’s budget cutting efforts, we’d never call him a prince.
For his fight to punch city spending down to size, we’d say he deserves a more fitting title.
