The focus of this inquiry is to explore the source and nature of conscience, its psychological implications and the dynamics of its relationship with moral and ethical conduct, both personal and collective. It examines some of the literature on moral development, which for the most part belies a patriarchal turn of mind, with the intention of seeking to redress this imbalance.
