Karim Pirani wants to create a safer, more responsible online society. To contribute toward a wiser web, Pirani’s new online classified marketplace “Safelist.com” launched on July 30, taking aim at a Goliath of a competitor in Craigslist.com.
Before he started work on his new site three years ago, Pirani wondered why the government requires people to have a driver’s license even to take a quick trip to the neighborhood grocery store, and yet online, on the “information superhighway,” you can be anonymous?
In response, the Carmel Valley resident created Safelist, “a safer Craigslist” – a classified marketplace where everyone’s identities are verified. It’s like an online gated community.
