We are fortunate that some in the community understand.
The Ismaili Muslim Community recently partnered with United Way on this issue. Through raising funds and awareness at community events like its annual Stampede breakfast, the community has created a bursary fund that will provide youth the opportunity to go back to school.
The costs of living often push youth to start working full-time before they finish school.
This bursary fund will provide an alternative. United Way has also created a guide titled It’s Never Too Late, designed to help youth navigate the system, so they can find the supports they need to return to their schooling.
