Salima Kheraj on developing eco-friendly neighbourhood plans, Spruce Grove, Alberta

Municipalities in the Capital Region will soon be green with envy of Spruce Grove, according to a new subdivision development plan.

A proposed subdivision called Greenbury Village was unveiled to city council on Tuesday, where the reoccurring word was “green.”

The new neighbourhood, to be developed on an 80-acre parcel northeast of Pioneer Road and Grove Drive, is council’s model of a “green dream” that will include the latest eco-friendly designs and environmentally-sustainable technology.

According to project manager Salima Kheraj with Beaverbrook Developments, the proposed neighbourhood will include features that are new to the Capital Region.
