Natasha Fatah interviews Ugandan exiles at the reunion in Mississauga, Ontario this spring

In 1972, Ugandan dictator Idi Amin announced that all Asians, regardless of their citizenship, had to pack up and leave the country – and he gave them only ninety days to get out. Thousands of those Asian Ugandans found refuge in Canada, including Anwer Omar. This year, nearly four decades later, Anwer and hundreds of other exiled Ugandans gather for a reunion picnic.   1. Despite this sad event many years back. Uganda is now rewakening and is an emerging market with a lot of opportunites. Air Uganda (part of the Aga Khan Group) flies from Entebee to Nairobi, Mombasa, Juba, Kigali, Dar & soon Bujumbura.
