“I began my nursing career in Pakistan” , Assistant Professor Salimah Meghani, University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing

Professor Salimah MeghaniDr. Meghani was conferred a BSN equivalent degree by The Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan. She went on to earn her MSN in Adult Acute Care, MBE in Biomedical Ethics, and PhD in Nursing/Health Disparities at the University of Pennsylvania. She also completed a Postdoctoral training at the Center for Health Disparities Research at the University of Pennsylvania, School of Nursing. She joined Penn Nursing faculty as an Assistant Professor in the Biobehavioral and Health Sciences Division. Research Dr. Meghani’s current research focuses on racial and ethnic disparities in cancer pain treatment. More specifically, her current work includes an exploration of the patient-level factors affecting negotiation of treatment for cancer pain among African Americans.
