The United States Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation celebrates its tenth year with 63 new grant awards supporting cultural preservation projects worldwide.

Established by the U.S. Congress in the fall of 2000, the U.S. Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation or AFCP awards grants for the preservation of cultural sites, cultural objects and collections, and forms of traditional cultural expression through a grants competition open to more than 100 eligible countries.

Other 2010 AFCP grants include an award of ….. $450,000 to the Aga Khan Trust for Culture, for ongoing restoration of Qala Ikhtyaruddin, the 15th-century citadel of Herat, Afghanistan.
