The Government of Greece in association with the Hellenic Post Office Authority of Greece and Ms. Loula Loi Alafoyiannis, Founder and President, EAWC, has honored Almas Jiwani, President of UNIFEM Canada, with a commemorative stamp in recognition of her lifelong commitment and contribution to advocating for women’s equality rights around the world.

Ms. Jiwani is one of 16 distinguished honorees selected from across the world to receive the 2010 Artemis Award. She is the second Canadian recipient in the award’s history, and the first UNIFEM president honoured with a commemorative stamp in Greece
