Dr. Faiza Hirji joins McMaster University

Gender, race, ethnicity, the role of the media in identity construction for youth – these are just a few of the research topics investigated by Dr. Faiza Hirji, one of several new professors to have joined the Faculty of Humanities this July.

With an honours degree in Communications from Simon Fraser University, along with an MA and PhD from Carleton University’s School of Journalism and Communication, Dr. Hirji previously taught courses on gender, television, culture and international communication at Carleton, and is a fantastic new addition to the Department of Communications and Multimedia. “We are absolutely delighted to welcome her to McMaster,” says department Chair, Dr. Graham Knight.
