Theatre is a powerful force – drawing participants into narratives, allowing them to appreciate new perspectives and challenge their own beliefs. Theatrical exercises provide a rich repertoire of resources to draw upon when creating courses to teach empathy at a preclinical level.
Parallels exist between the processes actors use in preparing for a scene and the processes physicians use in patient interviews.
