BC Legal Bar Talk: Altaf Jina

Altaf Jina of Park Place Seniors Living has been reappointed to the Board of Continuing Legal Education Society of BC. He has also been re-elected to the Board of Health Employers Association of B.C

Al Jina is the owner of the Park Place Seniors Living group of companies, which includes Hilton Villa (Surrey), Cartier House (Coquitlam), Pine Grove (Kamloops), and Windsor Manor (Kelowna). He is both a lawyer and health service executive. During his practice as a lawyer, Al was an active participant in making presentations to Canadian Bar Association groups, the Canadian Tax Foundation, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia, the Continuing Legal Education Society of BC and others on developments in the law. He has been called to the BC and Alberta Bars, and previously practiced with the law firm of McCarthy Tetrault and the accounting firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers. Al currently serves on the BC Board of Examiners in Optometry and is a Founding Director of Sparks Humanitarian Society, Canada. He was previously a Director of the BC Care Providers Association and a member of the Ismaili Council of BC. In 1974, he immigrated as a child to Canada from Tanzania. Al lives with his wife and young children in Vancouver. He and his wife also lived in Nelson, BC for two years where they acquired their first care facility in 1993.
