Sultan Jessa – head of the Tanzania Press Club, with late Rashidi Kawawa – former Prime Minister of Tanzania

Dar es Salaam – TANZANIA – Tanzania is mourning the death of its former Prime Minister Rashidi Kawawa.
Kawawa, often described as the “War Lion,” died at the age of 83 at the Muhimbili Hospital.
For many years, Kawawa was the right hand man of the founding President Julius Nyerere.
Tanzania has declared seven days of mourning with all flags flying at half mast.
